Today is the first day that I officially start working. After I got to the office of the director, Wu, she talked to me for a while about how this institution is organized. Where I work is the branch of the institution(分院）. The main one（总院） is much older. Only orphans below 3 can live there. Most of the children above 3 live, get physically training and go to kindergarden here. This brach consists of all the children with different degrees of disabilities.  It's divided in to two parts, living section(生活部) and education and training section (辅康部). Children live in the living section and get education and training in another one. I work in the education and training section, in which there are four classes: one has children from 0 to 3, two contain children from 3 to 8, one contains children above 8. The classes under 8 are funded by "Half Sky" program, which employ teachers and care-givers for the institution. Another program under the "Half Sky" is called "新和家园“, in which program every five or six students are allocated in to the special family. The "family" consists of a mother and a father, and they can be couple. They live in the main part of the institution and they have school bus to send the children to go to the education and training section.
